Meindoodla!

I have a pen fetish.   I'm not ashamed to admit it.  Pens, and scribbling with them, makes me joyously happy.  The only problem here is that I have the artistic talent of a chocolate fish.  Well, that's not true, a chocolate fish melting in the hot sun has quite the artistic potential.  A brick.  That's a far fairer comparison.  So anyway, I have the artistic talent of a brick, and thus the love of scribbling with pens has never accomplished anything except to waste vast quantities of paper, which is fun, but highly unproductive.

Now, being the new Flickrite that I am, I'm meeting new and inspiring people.  Biffybeans is one of them.  And she's inspired me.   And so here I am.   

I have some new pens, they're the cheap-as-chips-mate Wing Sung pens from China, and they're pretty damn nice to doodle with.   

My goal is to get this page full of drawing.  Wish me luck with that, won't you.

The page was virgin white until I brutually raped it with burgendy ink, resulting in that ghastly shape in the top left which I can only describe as the Onion.   So, with the page now tainted, I tried to make some intricate little circle design in burgendy, which didn't work out so was scribbled over with blue, and it's now a nice black blob between the pens, superiorly resembling an ink drip.

So, completely discouraged... okay not completely or I would have given up, but highly discouraged I checked back at Biffybeans and refuelled on inspiration.   This is when I wrote 'I'm going to try doing some mandala art', at which point I realised that the new orange pen is leaking ever so slightly around the nib, which is where the second sentence came from.   And yes, I was both growling and frowning as I wrote that.

Time to do something.   I drew a circle, because circles always make good center points, there's just no debating it.   Then spikes seemed to flow from that.   And then, some unfilled spikes.   And then, BIG LEARING FLAMES, just because I can and burgendy is quite a good colour for that.   Then I looked at the clock and decided I should really brush my teeth and do all those girlie good night things that girls do before they warily climb into bed.   I can't believe I just said I do girlie good night things.  I don't, honest I don't.  I brush my teeth and wash my face, that's it.  Oh and exfoliate.   And moisturise.   But that's it, I swear.  Anyway, I digress, as I do so beautifully.    

So what I was saying is that it's now rather late, so I'm going to continue my Meindoodla later.   And I've decided to call it a Meindoodla rather than a Mandala, as being an infidel that's would be a little rude of me.  So the Mein is german, and the doodla is just doodle with an A, because I always have to be different like that.

Looks like a good start, better than anything I could do. Although, your 'Pen is leaking' looks like 'penis leaking' which would be an entirely different, non pg-13 blog writing I'm sure ;)

*ahem* where are the copious amounts of luck wishing for me, Taubs? Instead you just talk about dicks, all over my blog, turning it into some low rated smut site. Excellent. Do you know what many hits it's going to get, now that the word penis is on it?

I won't kill you, I'll torture you excrutiatingly painfully slowly over several weeks, and then let you live. :D

But, point noted, I shall make sure I use plenty of spacing when I next write the words pen and is next to each other, Smartass ;)

I'm touched to have inspired someone to create art. Looks good, and keep going. The mandala is a great way to get lost in your mind and release old junk that needs to go.

PS - I had two of those pens. Both went into the garbage. Lamy Safari's rock. Did you get the Lime one yet?
